Repairs under Guarantee

Your Roberts product is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of delivery to the original owner against failure due to faulty workmanship or component breakdown, subject to the procedure stated below. Should any component or part fail during this guarantee period it will be repaired or replaced free of charge. The guarantee does not cover:

  • Damage resulting from incorrect use;
  • Consequential damage;
  • Receivers with removed or defaced serial numbers.
Procedure:

If your radio is still under guarantee, any claims should be made through the dealer from whom the set was purchased. It is likely that the dealer will be able to attend to any defect quickly and efficiently but should it be necessary the dealer will return the set to our service department for attention. In the event that it is not possible to return the radio to the original retailer please follow the instructions for Returning Your Radio. It is important that you include with your set a proof of purchase.

Repairs out of Guarantee

If a fault has occurred after the guarantee has elapsed or the fault has arisen due to consequential damage or misuse, a charge is applicable. Please see the bottom of the page for prices, or click here.

Returning your Radio - Packaging Advice

It is essential that your radio is well-packed as we can no longer accept responsibility for damages caused by insufficient packaging. Any damage caused as a result of poor packaging is neither covered by the guarantee nor by any fee paid for repairs undertaken outside the guarantee. Should you wish this damage to be rectified, you will be charged at the repair rate for your set, subject to availability of parts.

The following photographs show how to pack a radio properly, with the consequences of poor packaging beneath. Remember, damage like this to your radio is not covered by the guarantee and repairing this will incur extra costs. Repair Prices

How to package your set properly:

1) Firstly, wrap your radio in several layers of bubble-wrap or other packing wrap.

 

2) Next, ensure that the sides of the radio are also well protected.



3) Find a suitable box. If you don't have the original box and packaging you will need one that measures at least 10cm (4") more on each side than the radio. As can be seen below we have left plenty of space to absorb any impact that may occur in transit. Fill the bottom of the box with a thick layer of a suitable packing material, such as shredded paper or polystyrene chips. Place the radio in the box and build up the packing around it.

 

4) Top the box up with more packing. It's best to include your accessories within this section - it makes it easier for us to spot when unpacking. Be careful to position sharp objects such that they cannot damage your set. Finally, make sure you have included the necessary paperwork, and then tape the box closed with strong tape and address it.

What to Include

Often it is not necessary to send all of your radio's accessories to us. Batteries in particular need not be included with your set if the fault is unrelated, e.g. the aerial has broken. Likewise remote controls, iPod docks and user manuals can be left out. If your radio is powered with a "figure-8" mains lead (like this) then there is no need to include it. However, if your radio is powered by a mains adaptor then please send this along with your set. If you are in any doubt, please do not hesitate to include anything just in case.
